Project overview
In 2018, HuaSheng delivered metal bus shelters for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Each station combines a shade canopy, a glass enclosure and a separate route signage pylon. The project forms part of HuaSheng's regional references alongside Dammam, Mecca and Qatar. The delivery model includes ventilation, prefabricated units, overseas transport and site support for hot climates and local architectural requirements.
The procurement challenge
Saudi transport projects need shelters that remain safe and comfortable in extreme heat. Designs must also meet local architectural requirements. Suppliers must coordinate production in China with installation teams in Riyadh. This includes drawing review, documented quality control, export packaging and remote installation support. HuaSheng supplied the shelter, enclosure and pylon as one coordinated kit.
Climate & environment requirements
Riyadh has hot summers and strong sunlight. Sand and dust can wear surfaces and mechanisms. Desert nights can be much cooler than daytime conditions. These conditions create the following design requirements:

Materials & engineering approach
HuaSheng's shelter system uses galvanized steel, 304/201 stainless steel or aluminum structures. Tempered safety glass forms the enclosure. Powder coating or electrophoresis protects surfaces. The canopy, enclosure and pylon form prefabricated units that connect with bolts. Parts are grouped by assembly sequence for flat-packed shipment and local assembly without additional fabrication.
Manufacturing & quality process
HuaSheng's 120,000 m² plant has five workshops, 297 precision machines and more than 600 production staff. Eight steps cover drawing review, incoming inspection, cutting and forming, welding, surface treatment, assembly, final inspection and shipping. Surface treatment includes pretreatment, electrophoresis, powder coating and baking. Final inspection covers appearance, structure and electrical systems. ISO 9001 and DMAIC control cover production from incoming materials to loaded containers. HuaSheng holds patents for shelter designs, structures, light boxes and connectors.
Delivery & outcome
HuaSheng shipped the shelters with protective sea-freight packaging and container loading plans. Assembly drawings and remote support helped local installers. The delivery followed the company's Middle East export model. The 2018 Riyadh project appears alongside Dammam, Mecca and Qatar in HuaSheng's regional references.
