In 2018, HuaSheng — Guangzhou HuaSheng Metal Materials Co., Ltd., a metal fabrication manufacturer founded in 1989 — delivered shelter and shading structures for public works in Oman. The Sultanate of Oman appears among the clients HuaSheng has served, and the project forms part of the company's Middle East and Asia public facility record alongside Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Nepal. Where the Doha and Riyadh cases centre on transit stops, the Oman work is broader public-works fabrication: shaded waiting and public shelter structures engineered to survive a desert environment with minimal maintenance.

The procurement challenge

Public-works departments buying shade and shelter structures face a different risk profile from advertising-funded transit programmes: the structures are pure public service, budgets are scrutinised, and replacement cycles are expected to be long. The buyer therefore needs fabrication that will not become a maintenance liability — corrosion protection done as a process, not a paint layer — plus a supplier who can document what was built, how it was inspected, and how it should be assembled by local crews after ocean freight. HuaSheng's role in Oman was to close that whole chain from drawing review to container loading within its own plant.

Climate & environment requirements

Oman's environment combines interior desert heat with a long coastline: intense solar radiation for most of the year, wind-blown sand and dust, high summer temperatures, and humid, salt-laden air near coastal settlements. Materials & engineering approach

The Oman structures use HuaSheng's standard outdoor material system: hot-dip galvanized steel, 304/201 stainless steel or aluminium profiles for the frames, with tempered glass or metal canopy elements and outdoor powder coating or electrophoresis for surface protection. As with HuaSheng's other Middle East deliveries, the structures were engineered as prefabricated, bolt-together units classified by assembly sequence — a modular approach that lets complete shade and shelter structures be fabricated and finished in Guangzhou, flat-packed for export, and assembled accurately by local crews in Oman without on-site fabrication.

Manufacturing & quality process

Production ran through HuaSheng's eight-step workflow inside its 120,000 m² plant — five workshops, 297 precision machines and 600+ frontline staff: design and process review; IQC incoming inspection of steel, aluminium and accessories; laser cutting, punching, bending and tube bending; robotic plus manual welding; surface treatment on a digital automatic spray line (pre-treatment, electrophoresis, powder coating, baking); clean assembly and commissioning; FQC final inspection of appearance, structure and electrical items; then packing and shipping. Quality management is ISO 9001 certified and operated on a DMAIC cycle — IQC, first-piece inspection, IPQC patrol and final verification — and HuaSheng holds design and structural utility patents across its shelter range.

Delivery & outcome

The structures were delivered in 2018 using HuaSheng's export model: totem-style container loading to maximise container utilisation, protective packing for ocean freight, and assembly drawings with remote installation guidance for the buyer's local team. The project is recorded on HuaSheng's project list as "Oman public works — shelter and shading structures for a desert environment", and it extends the overseas delivery track record the company has built since 2014 across Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Nepal.
