Overview
In 2017, HuaSheng manufactured aluminium wayfinding signs for the Romanian transport system, produced at its 120,000 m² Guangzhou factory and exported to Europe. Romanian Transport appears in HuaSheng's referenced client list alongside IKEA, Hong Kong MTR, the Beijing Olympics Committee, the Government of Qatar, New Zealand Post and Korean municipalities. The project extends HuaSheng's street furniture and public-facility manufacturing — shelters, kiosks, pylons and signage — into an EU member-state transport network.
The procurement challenge
Public buyers in EU member states such as Romania operate under formal procurement rules: technical specifications are fixed in the tender, suppliers must evidence a quality management system, and the delivered goods must match the documented specification exactly — visual consistency across hundreds of sign units matters as much as any single sign. For a non-EU manufacturer, the practical challenge is documentation and repeatability: drawings, material declarations, process descriptions and inspection records that the contracting authority and its winning contractor can file in the procurement dossier, plus a fabrication process controlled tightly enough that unit one and unit three hundred are indistinguishable.

Materials & engineering approach
Aluminium was the specified material, and it suits the application: it is light enough for safe post-mounted installation, does not rust, holds crisp panel flatness for graphic legibility, and takes powder coating well. HuaSheng fabricated the signposts from aluminium profiles and sheet using the same equipment set applied to its shelter and street furniture programmes — laser cutting, CNC punching and bending, and tube forming — with welded and mechanically fastened joints engineered for outdoor exposure. Finishing ran through the factory's digital automatic spray line: pre-treatment, electrophoresis, powder coating and baking, producing a weather-resistant finish applied under controlled factory conditions rather than on site.
Manufacturing & quality process
Production followed HuaSheng's standard eight-step process: design and process review of the buyer's drawings; IQC incoming inspection of aluminium stock and accessories; cutting and forming; welding and riveting; surface treatment; assembly; FQC final inspection covering appearance and structure; and export packing. The DMAIC quality chain — IQC incoming checks, first-piece inspection, IPQC in-process patrols and FQC final inspection — creates the inspection trail that EU procurement documentation expects, and HuaSheng's ISO 9001 certification covers the full chain from design and fabrication through assembly and dispatch.
Delivery & outcome
The signage was packed using HuaSheng's export methodology — units protected for sea freight and loaded to maximise container utilisation, with drawings supplied for the local installation team. The delivered project made Romania one of HuaSheng's European references and demonstrated that the factory's aluminium fabrication and finishing chain can serve EU transport-sector buyers, complementing its shelter deliveries across the Middle East, Asia and Oceania.
