In 2018, HuaSheng manufactured metal postal service shelters for New Zealand, engineered specifically for an island climate. The procurement challenge

Postal and public-service shelters in New Zealand sit outdoors for decades with minimal maintenance budgets, often within a short distance of the coast. Materials & engineering approach

HuaSheng built the postal shelters with the corrosion-focused material system it applies across coastal projects: hot-dip galvanized steel, stainless steel or aluminium structural members, tempered safety glass, and weather-resistant outdoor finishes. Every metal surface passed through the factory's digital automatic spray line — pre-treatment, electrophoresis, powder coating and baking — so the protective system was applied and cured in controlled conditions before the shelters ever met salt air. The shelters were engineered as modular, bolt-together assemblies with concealed, protected fixings, allowing flat-packed shipment and straightforward reassembly by a local installation crew working from HuaSheng's drawings.

Manufacturing & quality process

Fabrication followed HuaSheng's standard ISO 9001 process chain: design and process review; IQC incoming inspection of steel, aluminium and accessories; laser cutting and CNC forming; robotic plus manual welding; surface treatment on the automatic spray line; clean assembly with accessory integration; FQC final inspection of appearance, structure and fit; and export packing. The DMAIC quality system — with IQC, first-piece inspection, IPQC patrols and FQC — provides the inspection records a public-sector buyer can retain, and the same quality chain is audited by long-term OEM clients including IKEA under its global compliance programme.

Delivery & outcome

The shelters were flat-packed, classified by assembly sequence, protected for the sea crossing and loaded totem-style to maximise container utilisation, with assembly drawings and remote support provided to the New Zealand installation team. The delivered programme added Oceania to HuaSheng's export record and stands as the factory's reference for corrosion-engineered public facilities in maritime climates — the same engineering logic later applied across its coastal and overseas shelter work.
